I did some research and it seems most Kodi stream boxes have this issue. It's because Android doesn't support HD audio. Kodi displays DTS HD MA or Dolby TrueHD, but it's not passed into the HDMI stream because of Android. As for Jeremy reporting that is does work for him, I'm sorry but I highly doubt that. Either he mistakes something like DTS:EX for HD audio, or he's lying.

They do that every time something comes up that's hardware related. Can't stream high bitrate blu-ray iso's? Must be  your cables! The real reason of course is that the box itself is unable to get full 100Mbs speed when streaming. Same thing here. It's about whether your receiver supports HD audio, not about what brand it is.

Anyway, I'm getting tired of this. HD audio doesn't work, blu-ray rips don't and using a USB drive as cache for streaming doesn't work either, so you can't stream/torrent anything that's larger than internal memory.  I'm thinking about getting something more flexible like an Intel NUC.
