« on: December 11, 2016, 03:59:53 PM »
Hi COOD-E Users,

There are some issues with the opensubtitle addon, after they updated their service and addon, it will not always auto update, so manual installation could be needed.

Please do as follow to get it back to work.

Completely uninstall OpenSubtitle Addon: http://forum.cood-e.com/index.php?topic=6.0

Download new version: http://www.opensubtitles.org/addons/kodi/service.subtitles.opensubtitles_by_opensubtitles.zip

Install as zip (Setting -> Addons -> Install by ZIP)

Should work again after.

Guides & Tips / Folder rights settings for SAMBA (SMB)
« on: September 25, 2015, 01:36:18 PM »
1) Choose which folder you want to share with your COOD-E TV.
2) Right-click on the folder and choose properties
3) Select the tab "Sharing"
4) Press the button "sharing"
5) A new window will open, (You'll see youre username here) Choose "everyone" from the dropdown menu
6) Choose "Add" and select "read/write" at "permission level"

The COOD-E TV shouldn't ask for your username/password anymore. Is the COOD-E still asking for a password or giving a error? This could be a block in your firewall. We advise you to forward TCP port 445 in your firewall(s)

A Review made by Roberto Jorge - Tech Reviews.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/kNQG8Y5gV_M

This is a Unboxing and Review of the COOD-E TV Box that features the Amlogic S805 Quad Core CPU, The Quad Core Mali 450, 1GB Ram and 8GB of Nand Flash Storage.

COOD-E its a very simple box that will deliver the ability to use KODI out of the Box.

It features, 1 DC in, 1 USB 2.0, Ethernet Connection, HDMI and AV Out.

On my tests as we can see on the video is totally capable of playing 1080p resolution files from my network. Video and audio are very smooth.
Tests were made with Big Buck Bunny and Tears of Steal at 1080p with nice results.

It looks and feels premium, with a very small footprint. A very dim blue light at the front that can be disabled and its great to be placed on a bedroom or any other dark environment.

Theres not much more to say about COOD-E TV except that its very simple but does its job well. It might be a good option for those that are looking for something simple to use KODI that just works, like someone that doesn't want to mess around with aps installation on Android etc.
On the other hand for those that want to install other aps besides KODI might find that its too simple for them, but hey this is off course a option.

Things i Liked the Most:
- Great Unboxing Experience
- Premium Feel & Look
- Nice Wireless Remote Included
- Online Updates

Things i Liked the Less:
- Nothing so Far

Hope it helps your decision.

Guides & Tips / Turning off addon updates | Not advised
« on: August 10, 2015, 01:12:18 PM »
By request we explain how to turn off the updates of the add-ons.
We do not suggest to do this, as add-ons needs the updates to work propertly.

If you turn off this function, it can cause addons to not work.

#1. Go to Settings.
#2. Go to Add-ons.
#3. Press LEFT button on remote.
#4. Change Auto updates to Notify or OFF.

To turn it back on, do the same but select ON.

Guides & Tips / DTS / DOLBY Passthrough
« on: July 14, 2015, 12:07:09 PM »
Hi COOD-E Users.

Default COOD-E has DTS/DOLBY Passthrough OFF.

Its an very simple change to the settings.

Please take the following steps.
- Go to Settings
- Go to System
- Press LEFT button on remote
- It will show Settings level Basic, press OK button to change to ADVANCED.
- Press RIGHT button on remote to go back to settings.
- Select Audio output
- Select ENABLE Passthrough.
- Also select Dolby Digital (AC3) capable reciever.
- Also select Enable Dolby Digital transcoding.
- Also select DTS capable reciever.

Now all has been activated.
These settings only have to be done ONCE.

If you turn passthrough off, those will go OFF, if you turn passthrough on, those will go ON.

Easy turning ON and OFF passthrough:
If you turn on a Movie or Music just press OK button to show up the play/pauze menu.
On the TOP you can go to AUDIO and turn Passthrough ON and OFF there.

But first for DTS and DOLBY you must activate those settings, as this is default on KODI.
